Quirky and cosy, the bistro and champagne speakeasy are wonderful additions to the Bath foodie scene. READ ARTICLE
It is rare, dare I say unique, to saunter into an eatery which is part shop, part bistro, part champagne bar, let alone offer the chance to buy anything you see inside it. READ ARTICLE >

I need to start this review with a spot of advice: arrive early for your dinner, or be prepared to stay a while after you've feasted. You see, these are not simply four walls in which to scoff your dinner before dashing away, it's an emporium of delights and surprises (often of the risqué variety) that demand from you as much attention of the food on your plate. 'it was the Gratin de Crozet that stole the show for me – fabulously rich and buttery, with a sauce so good I couldn’t resist scooping up the last few drops with bread. The celeriac was another favourite of mine – the perfect texture, crispy and golden on the outside and soft with just a little bite on the inside, with a subtle nuttiness that went beautifully with the black truffle mayo'. 'We had lunch at Comptoir Cuisine which is the most quirky restaurant I have ever been to, because not only do you get to indulge in delicious food and champagne but you also get to shop everything that you see, from gorgeous furniture to sleek champagne flutes to colourful underwear! Yes underwear! The decor of the place is so unique and creative! And the food, champagne and conversation just kept flowing. I would liek to specifically add that the service is impeccable.'. The bread that came with the tapenade was incredible. The tapenades that we had were artichoke (amazing), goji berry (interesting) and figs & black olives (very sweet). The place itself is very cosy with lots of French products everywhere. We loved it so much! READ REVIEW >
Cheese-lovers are celebrating the arrival of Comptoir+Cuisine, a French concept store, bistro, café and charcuterie, with a champagne and cocktail den downstairs. This raffish but sumptuous bar is the Bath outpost of London’s Champagne+Fromage. Book a table for classic cocktails, baked camembert and more than 50 types of champagne.
The place itself is so lovely. It's really large as well with all different rooms. Overall, it's very cosy and the champagne bar downstairs has large sofas and soft lighting - perfect for a date ????
The endless champagne was an absolute treat too! I would absolutely recommend this spot to anybody visiting Bath who loves a little quirky spot... or good champers.
I know it’s a cliche but I really don’t think there’s much more joyful than sharing good food with a bunch of lovely people. It’s therapeutic, soul-giving and delicious in every sense of the word. And the vibes at Comptoir Cuisine make it the perfect backdrop to do this in an informal, gorgeous way. It’s full marks from me.
We ate a sharing board of cheese, cured meats and tapenade and I highly recommend the Garlic and Herb Camembert, and Mont d’or fondue which is essentially a miniature swimming pool of cheese. Head down the 70s inspired basement for a decadent experience whatever the time of day.
